Meet Revs. Katie and John Callaway, co-pastors of First Baptist Church Savannah.
John and Katie will share together in the tasks previously performed by the Senior Minister and Associate Minister. Read the plan outlining how they will work together and their philosophy of ministry.
Rev. Katie Callaway
Katie was born and raised in High Point, NC. She spent her undergraduate career at Roanoke College (Salem, VA), completed a Master of Divinity at Wake Forest University School of Divinity and a Master of Theology at Emory University. She is passionate about helping people grow in their faith through pursuing questions, doubts, and curiosities. In her spare time, she loves being outdoors cycling, running, hiking, or just enjoying a good book. She and John have a two-legged child named Sophie and a four-legged child named Lily.
Rev. John Callaway
John was born and raised in Boiling Springs, SC. He completed an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in education at Clemson University and then attended the Wake Forest University School of Divinity and completed a Master of Divinity degree. Having worked in and alongside churches across the Southeast preaching, teaching, and leading music, John feels called to help others recognize the “burning bushes” in their lives and to help them grow along their faith journeys. John enjoys hiking, reading, playing music, and walking with his wife, Katie, daughter, Sophie, and dog, Lily.
